POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Buyer performs moderately complex purchasing procedures in the acquisition of goods and services from a variety of vendors. Participates in planning for acquisition of goods and services, coordinates buying and contracting services and serves as liaison between the Procurement Division and internal and external customers. Resolves or refers questions or complaints from users and vendors, and assists with or conducts market surveys, research, and analysis.



  • Procure supplies, services and subsistence authorized for local purchase.
  • Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks such as follow up on delinquent orders, receiving and processing service calls, work processing, and filing.
  • Administers orders and contracts to completion including actions incident to lost or damaged shipments, disposition of over shipments, rejections or delays, terminations, defaults and claims.
  • Operates applicable portions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other pertinent directives and regulations as modified by Corporate regulations and procedures approved for use by the Air Force.
  • Must have knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its application to subcontracting for the government.
  • Must have experience in computer usage to include basic understanding of spreadsheet, word, electronic mail and Internet.
  • Possess strong communication, organizational and relational skills.
  • Maintains successful completion of CON 110-112 or equivalent.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least four years of work experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, project management, accounting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrates an ability to gain an understanding of basic principles, terms, procedures, and practices of purchasing, including a basic familiarity with cost and quantitative analysis techniques, research principles, department policies, data privacy rules and other applicable regulations and laws. Applies understanding to resolve routine problems associated with the work.
  • Demonstrates an ability to learn and apply best practices and methods in identifying purchasing patterns, researching goods and services, resolving informal protests, and preparing specifications and solicitation requests.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of software applications applicable to the work being performed. Uses software applications, office equipment, and related tools to perform routine work assignments.
  • Demonstrates an ability to identify basic risks and liability implications associated with assignments and refer issues to supervisory personnel.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:



  • An Associate degree in procurement, purchasing, logistics, project management, accounting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with military-specific facility/infrastructure codes and standards, as applicable.
