Job Summary

Operates several types of power construction equipment, such as compressors, pumps, hoists, derricks, cranes, shovels, loaders, tractors, scrapers, or motor graders, to excavate, move, and grade search, erect structural and reinforcing steel, and pour concrete or other hard surface paving materials.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operates equipment such as front end loaders, excavators, rock truck, water truck
  • Adjusts hand wheels and depresses pedals to drive machines
  • Control attachments such as blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms
  • Repairs and maintains equipment
Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • 3 years experience with heavy equipment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with crushing equipment, but not essential.
Skills
  • Read engineering drawings
  • Practice good safety habits
  • Work in dusty or dirty surroundings
  • Follow instructions
  • Meet set standards
  • Judge distances and slopes accurately
  • Make decisions based on verifiable standards
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment urinalysis and physical abilities test.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to bend, swoop and twist on occasion.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
