Position Summary
The Division of Community Health Sciences at the UIC School of Public Health is seeking a graduate student to work on a grant-funded research project focused on harm reduction among people who use drugs in rural Illinois.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data coding and cleaning
  • Data documentation
  • Data analysis
  • Assist with preparation of reports and manuscripts
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Public Health, community psychology, social work, or other applied health science with training or experience in research methods OR Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, or related field plus two years of research experience in social science, public health, or related research domain
    • Basic knowledge of research methods
    • Intermediate knowledge of statistics
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior experience with data collection and analysis
    • Prior experience with REDCap surveys & databases
    • Intermediate knowledge of Stata or SAS
    • Background knowledge and interest in health of people who use drugs
    • Ability to work autonomously and complete job responsibilities independently
