LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: TENNESSEE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE COMMISSION, ADMINISTRATION DIVISION , DAVIDSON COUNTY Qualifications Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, plant sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, or a closely related scientific field. A master's degree or higher is preferred but not required. At least three (3) years of professional experience in a cannabis, hemp, or comparable regulatory or analytical science field. Laboratory experience in either a commercial testing facility or product manufacturing setting is strongly preferred. Familiarity with the production, formulation, testing, and regulation of hemp-derived cannabinoid products is strongly preferred. Overview The Hemp Regulatory Advisor serves as the ABC's lead technical expert on hemp-derived cannabinoid products. The role supports policy implementation, advises on product safety and lab certification standards, and acts as the primary liaison to the Department of Agriculture's lab. This position assists with compliance investigations, interprets lab results, and helps monitor the accuracy of product labeling. The Advisor also engages in public outreach, coordinates with other state agencies, and tracks scientific and industry developments to support informed regulatory decisions. Responsibilities - Provide scientific and technical input to assist the Commission in implementing statutory requirements and regulatory policies concerning hemp-derived cannabinoid products.
