Job Title: Production Supervisor - Printing Ink Manufacturing

Location: East Brunswick, NJ

Reports To: Plant Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations in the ink manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves supervising production staff, coordinating workflow, and optimizing processes to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers in ink blending, mixing, and packaging.

  • Monitor production schedules and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure proper handling and mixing of raw materials according to formulation specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain precise inventory levels for both stock and raw materials to support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain quality control by inspecting batches and ensuring color accuracy and consistency.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., handling of solvents and pigments).
  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members to improve performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with R&D, maintenance, and logistics teams to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, inventory logs, and shift reports.
  • Recommend improvements in equipment, processes, and workflow efficiency.
  • Report and communicate overall production issues in a timely and effective manner to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization by consistently adhering to the 5S program.


Qualifications

3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in ink, paint, or chemical production.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Skills

Experience with color matching and quality testing equipment (e.g., spectrophotometers).

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as OSHA, EPA, and ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in production software and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of ink formulation, pigment dispersion, and mixing equipment.
