The group you'll be a part of

Wet Equipment and Technology Solutions is an exciting, rapidly evolving field as the semiconductor industry's dependence on wafer-level packaging solutions continues to grow with consumer needs such as artificial intelligence (AI) and super-computing. WETS Engineering's Plating Process Critical team is responsible for some of the most critical hardware on the Sabre and Sabre 3D products with the closest proximity to the wafer and largest impact on plating performance. The team's vision is to partner with the process engineering group more closely than ever to deliver world-class hardware solutions for our customers. The team is seeking someone with a passion for engineering, strong analytical skills and attention to detail while keeping work fun and collaborative.

The impact you'll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you'll do

This person will fill a hybrid roll that heavily encompasses supplier management and product management while still incorporating traditional skillsets in mechanical engineering design. This engineer will be responsible for projects in the Sabre Electrofill Product Group that are tied directly to the plating cell. The engineer will be a single point of contact for suppliers in this space to provide technical guidance and conduct effective improvements in quality. This engineer will also work to improve internal processes and documents, such as Alpha qualification requirements for new product introduction, to streamline common functions. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of the Sabre and Sabre 3D product and the fundamentals of electroplating. This engineer will need to be comfortable in a variety of roles and work collaboratively with other disciplines including process engineering, product management, product support, and suppliers.

  • Independtly perform Problem Solving & Decision Making (PS&DM) in a highly structured and documented manner on hard-to-solve problems.
  • Definition, review and improvement of Supplier's Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), Supplier's Quality Systems and Processes of Record (POR).
  • Act as a technical liaison between OEM Suppliers, mechanical engineering, process engineering, and customer teams to ensure fast issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply experience with industrial Quality Systems, Engineering Design & Documentation, Product Qualification, and Engineering Change (EC) Processes to issues occurring in product and component life cycles.
  • Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to characterize and validate design performance.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews.
Who we're looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exercises good judgement in mechanical design methods and evaluation criteria.
  • Completes tasks independently and recognizes when direction is needed.
  • Experience in leading projects and problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.
  • Ability and expertise in Failure Analysis (FA) /8D process, 5-whys, FMEA, Design-for-Reliability, Weibull analyses, etc., to solve our most complex problems in the most efficient way.
  • Strong business effective communication and presentation skill to various levels of the company, and to suppliers during onsite/virtual audits, Interactions and discussions.
