Job Duties:
The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a physician to provide emergency care to patients. This position will also teach medical students, residents, and fellows. This position is full or part time, 50%-100%. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors (does not pertain to physicians/providers who work with minors): This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles listed in this posting. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. Key Job Responsibilities:The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Department:The Department of Emergency Medicine's federally funded clinical and translational research enterprise focuses on health services and care transitions studies, with considerable attention to vulnerable populations. Our faculty investigators are nationally recognized leaders in much of the research they conduct, yielding critical discoveries in areas such as aging and brain health, geriatric emergency care, infectious diseases, prehospital medicine, pediatrics, and systems engineering. Compensation:Negotiable (12 month) Required Qualifications:Completed accredited Emergency Medicine residency training program. Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.
