How you will make history here...
Provide overall support to the facility by overseeing Food Safety and Quality responsibilities. This role includes supervising plant documentation systems, managing food safety inspection and corrective/preventive action programs, leading the plant food defense team, and supporting ingredient, packaging, and finished product traceability and mock recall programs. Additionally, the role involves managing product and environmental microbiological testing programs, investigating non-conforming product incidents and consumer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and leading corrective action efforts. The individual will coordinate HACCP/Food Safety Plan risk assessments and scheduled reviews, develop strategic applications for plant data collection systems, provide quality training and awareness to plant employees, and supervise the QA, Sanitation, and Raw material receiving team in support of structured product inspection programs, laboratory testing, environmental monitoring, and calibration activities.

What you will do...
* Documentation Management- Manage documentation critical to quality systems, compliance, and formulation.
* Project Support - Support factory projects and programs by ensuring food safety and quality standards are upheld.
* Shift Work and Urgent Issues: Work off shifts and weekends as required to maintain sanitation standards and address any urgent issues.
* Continuous Improvement - Lead Food Safety continuous improvement efforts (complaint reduction, program reassessments, data collection systems, training). Lead plant 5S initiatives.
* Inspection Programs- Assess and disposition WIP and finished goods held for quality and food safety deviations
* Food Safety/Quality - Manage food safety inspection and corrective / preventive action programs.
* Program Coordination: Lead and coordinate other Food Safety / Quality program efforts such as SQF certification audits, facility verification / validation activities, HACCP / Food Safety Program, Raw Material Bulk Handling Systems, Food Security Improvements, etc.
* Sanitation Initiatives: Support sanitation program initiatives, environmental programs, cleaning verification & validation, allergen changeover, etc.
Chemical Usage and Safety Training: Oversee the sanitation department's chemical usage and safety training. Maintain training and safety certifications as required by Campbells and/or by any state or other governmental body.
* Team Management: Provide direct supervision to QA Technicians, Sanitation Techs, Raw Material Receivers, and the quality team that support environmental microbiological monitoring program, laboratory testing activities, calibration program, internal audit programs, and allergen validation activities. Ability to handle fast paced and rapidly changing environments. Ability to work independently and effectively within time constraints.
* QA Documentation Management: Creating new documents, revising existing ones, determining training needs, overseeing approval and distribution processes, maintaining the document control database, MSS, SSOP's, and coordinating document reviews.
* Quality Records Management: Reviewing, storing, and archiving quality records. Fulfilling requests for data and reports (e.g., corporate, environmental, CTQ Program).
* Internal Inspections: Leading plant internal quality and food safety inspections.
* Auditor Coordination: Creating and coordinating schedules, training, qualification, and calibration of auditors. Developing checklists, generating reports, and ensuring corrective actions are completed, verified for effectiveness, and audits are closed.
* Auditing Participation: Participating in programs as an auditor/inspector.
* Traceability Systems: Supporting plant traceability systems and mock recall exercises for ingredients, packaging, and finished products. Executing plant-scheduled and corporate-initiated trace exercises, including requests for mock recalls at the third-party distribution center level.
* Food Defense and Fraud: Leading plant food defense and food fraud teams by conducting team meetings, audits, and assessments.
* Instrumentation Calibration: Overseeing the program for calibrating and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation on the production floor.
* Sampling and Test Methods Validation: Validating sampling and test methods, including finished product, ingredient, process, shelf-life, and environmental testing programs.
* Incident Investigation: Leading investigations of in-plant quality incidents (e.g., foreign material, nonconforming product) and consumer complaints. Identifying root causes and facilitating corrective actions with plant teams.
* Consumer Complaint Analysis: Interpreting and reporting consumer complaint data trends and facilitating action plans.
* HACCP/Food Safety: Functioning as a HACCP/Food Safety team member responsible for conducting risk assessments and organizing program reassessments for continuous improvement.
* Data Collection Systems: Identifying opportunities and designing plans for expanded use of the plant electronic data collection system, anticipating future applications.
* Cross-Training: Cross-training in other QA tasks to function as a backup to QA team members.
* Critical Food Safety Responsibilities: In the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager, utilizing the organizational chart to cover critical food safety responsibilities.

  • High School Diploma or GED AND 2+ years of Sanitation or Quality experience OR Bachelors Degree with 3 months of manufacturing experience

  • 4+ years of Sanitation/Quality Supervisory experience
  • PCQI certification
  • SQF certification

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$69,400-$99,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
