JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Program, troubleshoot, and operate programmable controllers, distributive control systems, and interlocking systems * Install equipment for new electrical services (120v, 240v, and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, times and controls * Perform work on site automation system to the component level including components that require 0-10-volt signal or 4-20 milliamp signal repair * Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work; install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed * Work on electrical equipment including but not limited to Frequency Ddrives (VFDs), contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring * Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service * Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, distribution systems, motor control centers, and motors * Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime * Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production * Stay up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniques * Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes * Exhibit the ability to anticipate parts requirements for the tasks, follow proper purchasing procedures, and acquire parts ahead of anticipated task performance * Perform and assist in all operations maintenance activities, in accordance with national, state and local electrical codes * Use a computerized maintenance management system (e.g., SAP) to record and access maintenance related information * Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues * Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements * The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or equivalent * Graduation from trade school or technical school in related discipline preferred * 2 to 4 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and automation system maintenance experience * Certification and/or License - Electrician journeyman license or other location specific electrician license; master electrician preferred An Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/Veterans |
