Description
Provide management, business development and strategic planning support for the perioperative services department in a university medical system, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Perform strategy development and deployment for surgical service departments, incorporating operational, regulatory, contracting, and other external constraints. Support alignment of the department's operation with other units, including medical system affiliates and joint venture partners such as ambulatory surgery centers. Develop short- and long-range goals for improving the overall market position, financial performance, utilization of resources, and ability to provide patient-centered care in a coordinated way. Provide business planning, financial analysis, strategic analysis and guidance in order to facilitate decision making by the department leadership team and other key stakeholders. Support planning to drive success with strategic contracting, procurement, space allocation, and other resource utilization. Support the integration of new affiliate organizations into the medical system. Assess risks, mitigation strategies, and overall cost-benefit analysis before affiliation, working with strategy, finance, and operational teams.
Salary Range$157,664 to $331,800/year
Qualifications Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration or a related field. Five years of experience in job offered, or as a hospital administrator, healthcare business analyst or a related occupational title. The following experience can be acquired concurrently with the number of years of required experience: Five years of progressive experience with business planning and development for healthcare facilities. Five years of increasingly responsible experience in healthcare delivery business analysis including creation of business plans, financial forecasts and pro-formas in a healthcare system. The following experiences does not require a set period of time as demonstration of proficiency: Experience working with physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals. Experience working with affiliate departments including strategy, finance, and operational teams to assess risks, mitigation strategies, and overall cost-benefit analysis. Experience partnering and collaborating with system-wide departments including technology, human resources, marketing, financial services, contract, and procurement.
