In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree and two (2) or more years of paid work experience in an administrative office setting; proficiency with office software, preferably Microsoft Office. Experience working with underserved populations and knowledge of organizing events around social issues. Education beyond an Associate's preferred.
Must be a skilled communicator, both orally and in written form and possess exceptional interpersonal skills to handle high level internal and public contact; high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail required as well as the ability to cope with simultaneous and competing work demands also required.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Technical Assistant reports to the Chief Diversity Officer or their designee and performs the following duties:
1) Assists with diversity recruitment for staff, faculty and students by maintaining databases on community contacts, vacancy notices, local employers and new hires as well as reviewing online databases for qualified diverse candidates.
2) Coordinates, schedules and assists in developing curriculum for programs, workshops, events and presentations including but not limited to selection of presenters, program budgets and finance, marketing, invoicing and record keeping.
3) May provide oversight of ongoing program initiatives for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
4) Assists with the coordination of initiatives based on issues regarding campus diversity including but not limited to managing department and student concerns, maintaining records and documentation.
5) Maintains the Office functions of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion including but not limited to reception, ordering and inventory of office supplies, processing of mail including correspondence with both internal and external agencies and assists with the preparation of weekly agendas.
6) Coordinates events and appointments and maintains administrative calendar of meetings and activities for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion including weekly lists of community and campus events.
7) Update, review and maintain Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion social media presence and website.
8) Performs additional duties as assigned.
This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary of $45,000.
