How You'll Make an Impact Dudek is seeking a Project Manager with 25+ years of experience in land development and stormwater engineering. This position will serve as a project manager and technical expert, applying specialized knowledge to complex engineering challenges. This experienced professional will lead complex, multidisciplinary projects and represent Dudek in key client relationships. The role also involves mentoring staff, ensuring effective project delivery, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate would be a professional engineer, or able to obtain PE within one year, with experience in land development and surface water related civil engineering. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages the development of complex engineering analyses, simulations, and model-based assessments.
  • Develops and refines engineering plans, technical reports, and specialized calculations.
  • Optimizes technical workflows and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manages complex project phases, ensuring technical accuracy, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
  • Manages technical aspects of projects and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to integrate
  • engineering solutions.
  • Directs and reviews engineering work performed by junior and mid-level staff, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Ensures all technical work aligns with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Conducts quality control reviews and troubleshoots technical challenges to maintain project integrity.
  • Provides expert-level recommendations to optimize project design and performance.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert, offering guidance on complex engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • Mentors and trains junior engineers, enhancing team technical capabilities.
  • Develops internal technical training materials and best practices for the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve engineering models, workflows, and analytical tools.
  • Researches and implements emerging technologies to enhance engineering efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Contributes to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives, technical workshops, and process optimizations.
  • Provides technical expertise for proposals, project pursuits, and client meetings.
  • Develops scopes and cost estimates for highly technical project tasks.
  • Presents research, case studies, or technical findings at industry conferences or professional events.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 25+ years' experience in engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
  • If less than 8 years of education then a bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Currently pursuing Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure, with Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification completed.
  • Able to obtain the Professional Engineer in California license within one year of offer.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in California or other state.
  • Proficiency with advanced engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, MATLAB, GIS, CFD, or similar).
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex technical modeling, simulations, or data analysis.
  • Strong project management skills, including technical team coordination and quality control.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Experience mentoring and developing technical talent within an engineering team
Compensation: $138,000-$157,000 annually*
  • *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.
Working ConditionsEnvironment
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job requires occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.
