DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee interior design and office engineering, concentrating on enhancing office environments for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Your role will involve close collaboration with the bureau director and executive leadership to define essential design metrics and space allocation standards, ensuring that DEP offices are optimally situated to fulfill the agency's requirements. Key duties will include creating architectural specifications for detailed interior designs, managing space planning across all DEP offices, and coordinating major renovations with modular furniture systems. Additionally, you will conduct site inspections of leased properties to address construction issues and produce design drawings for interior layouts using AutoCAD and Blue Beam design software. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Architectural Designer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of professional architectural experience which involved designing components of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings or structures, and a bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering or a closely related field which included major course work in architectural design; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training in architectural design work.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
