As a Unarmed Security Guard - Retail Site in Union, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions and more .

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a financial institution location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to everyone you encounter. You will be expected to communicate clearly and professionally, responding to situations as they arise and assisting visitors, employees, and clients with their needs. This position is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling the property by vehicle as well as on foot. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the financial institution and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and/or customers with directions and general inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and instructions provided by Allied Universal and the location management.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred for positions that are primarily driving and must meet Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 plus years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required.
