About this unit This is a 33-bed unit for surgical patients who could be higher acuity/progressive level care, known as an acuity adaptable unit. It is created using PFCC principles to care for patients and their families through the continuum of their hospital stay. This unit is the perfect opportunity for seasoned and new graduate nurses, as you will have the opportunity to create your own shared governance model within the unit and be instrumental in helping to set the culture. Scope of work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
