Description Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a senior-level Software Development Manager/Scrum Masterto join and lead a development team that is working to bring an innovative product to market that aligns with Xcelerate's core business objectives. Work Status Allowable: US Citizenship Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain a security clearance in future Location: The role is primarily remote, though occasional on-site work and travel to partner locations may be required. Some off-hours work may also be necessary based on project timelines or issue resolution needs. Roles and Responsibilities: The Software Development Manager/Scrum Master will act as the servant leader within an agile development team, guiding the team through the Scrum framework and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. This role bridges the gap between software development teams, product owners, and stakeholders, focusing on both technical execution and team leadership. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and understanding of Agile principles to effectively lead teams and deliver successful projects. Scrum Master Duties: Facilitating Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives Removing impediments that hinder team progress Coaching and mentoring team members on agile principles and Scrum practices Ensuring the team adheres to Scrum framework and practices Collaborating with Product Owners to refine theproduct backlog Helping the team define the "Definition of Done" Optimizing agile project management tools such as Jira Software Development Manager Duties: Managing the team's development efforts, ensuring timely delivery and quality Ensuring the team maintains a release schedule and product integrity Escalating critical issues or impediments to relevant stakeholders Working with team leads to strategize and drive architectural and design choices Communicating with stakeholders and other teams to facilitate project success Leadership and Team Management: Motivating and inspiring the team to achieve high performance and team goals Facilitating collaboration and communication within and across teams and stakeholders Addressing team dynamics and promoting a positive team environment Monitoring and reporting on project progress and performance Technical Expertise: Maintaining a strong understanding of software development principles and practices Providing technical guidance and support to the team Displaying a solid understanding of programming, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture Staying up to date with industry trends and technologies Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology 10 years' experience as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager in an agile software development setting and/or agile project management A strong grasp of Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently Scrum Master certification(e.g., CSM) Demonstrated leadership coaching, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously Experience working with software development processes, tools, and technologies (e.g.,Jira,Agile, React, Java, Springboot) Preferred Skills and Qualifications Advanced Scrum Master/Agile certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, A-CSM, CSP-SM) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Masters degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology preferred 15 years' experience as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager in an agile software development setting and/or agile project management AboutXcelerateSolutions: Founded in 2009 and headquartered in McLean, VA, Xcelerate Solutions (www.xceleratesolutions.com) is one of America's fastest-growing companies.
