Job Purpose
This role is responsible for the success of Power Sports Logistics operations through the guidance and management of direct reports, feedback and response from and to internal stakeholders, and active engagement with the Power Sports dealer network, third party service providers (3PL), and other vendor partners. This role provides leadership for three functional areas within the Power Sports Logistics team: Warehouse Operations, Dealer Services, and Returnable Crates operations, and directly contributes to all departmental objectives, including inventory management, process improvement, workflow efficiencies, capital and personnel resources, and spend control and improvements. Additionally, a critical function held within this role is to set challenging plan-based goals with metrics designed to yield the best outcome/results with the defined resources founded on knowledge of industry standards and practices that provides a best-in-class experience for Power Sports wholesale customer and is the foundation for the retail customers experience. Application of analytical tools is required to communicate performance to plan and goal to set team direction and define any needed countermeasures. This role is also required to present key elements/information related to the efficient delivery of whole goods, Dealer support and interaction with Honda's manufacturing facilities. These presentations and meetings are crucial in providing clarity of performance to company goals and support the strategic development of future directions/plans.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan and act to achieve wholesale goals through quality and efficiency of
warehousing operations. Monitor, evaluate, and report out on daily wholesale achievements, logistics situation, distribution, and transportation situations, and implement countermeasures. - Promote on-going quality and efficiency of dealer services operations. Monitor,
evaluate, and report out on weekly/monthly achievements, dealer situations, order support, Special Sales and Department Inventory, and implement countermeasures. - Manage the RTC team which includes coordinating returnable crate
development, crate purchase negotiation, inventory management, refurbishment, vendor agreements and special projects related to Returnable Crate operations. - Coordinate and support all model pack improvements and modification actions
with Honda factories. Assist with SP preparations for new model launches. - Support special projects, reporting, and other ad hoc logistics department
needs as business needs require. - Complete finance related activity and reporting (expense monitoring, expense
accruals, spend analysis). Support divisional audit preparations and requests.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years in logistics or powersports industry or relatable work environment highly
preferred. - Very Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to include documentation,
reporting/presenting, follow-up techniques, organizational navigation, and interpersonal, team building skills. - Strong strategic thinking abilities to problem solve in complex and collaborative
environments. - Leadership skills required to manage, capture and prioritize competing initiatives,
ensuring achievement of dates and deliverables. - Must have the ability to think proactively and prioritize multiple work tasks to meet
deadlines. - In-depth knowledge of Powersports operations and products highly preferred.
- Proficiency in all MSO applications with intermediate to high skill level with Excel
required. - Experience with SAP desired and experience with Document Direct a plus.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must be willing to physically move and/or transport 2W and 4W products.
- This role has a strong "hands-on" aspect beyond normal office environment work.
