Our tumor biology group is looking for an experienced scientist whose key responsibilities will be to

  • Independently design, execute and interpret in vitro pharmacology experiments to guide compound SAR development and explore therapeutic potential of drug targets
  • Apply chemical and genetic tools as well as state-of-art technologies to interrogate cancer biology and understand the mechanism of actions of novel targets
  • Identify or develop appropriate in vitro model systems to answer key biological or pharmacological questions
  • Familiar with small molecule screening initiatives for exploratory and lead optimization programs.
  • Work collaboratively across multiple functional groups to achieve drug discovery goals
  • Evaluate data, prepare reports and presentations for internal and external meetings
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • BS/MS in Pharmacology, Molecular, Cellular or Cancer Biology or related field
  • Preferred industry experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Strong background in cancer biology and comprehensive knowledge of oncogenic signaling pathways
  • Expertise in developing high throughput/scalable in vitro assays to investigate multiple cellular processes.
  • Experience in advanced cell culture techniques, including three-dimensional (3-D) cell culture systems, co-culture systems and organoid culture systems
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture and cell-based assays for compound screening using platforms such as ELISA, HTRF, MSD, and CTG.
  • Proven experience in general molecular biology techniques (western blot, qPCR, flow cytometry etc.)
  • Strong communication skills; publication record or equivalent demonstration of scientific contribution is valued
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and evolving environment.
