Principal Engineer - Full Stack & Platform Oversight About the Role We are seeking a Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple development teams spanning backend microservices (Java), mobile (Flutter), web, QA automation, and AWS-based platform engineering. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, mentoring technical teams, and ensuring architectural excellence across a modern, AI-native engineering organization. Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Oversight
- Own the technical direction and design integrity across our full-stack ecosystem, adhering to company-wide [Architecture Standards].
- Guide the evolution of modular, scalable, and testable Java microservices, Flutter mobile apps, and modern web applications.
- Act as a gatekeeper and champion of architectural best practices, code quality, and technical debt management.
- Cross-Team Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to multiple teams across disciplines including:
- Backend: Java + Spring Boot microservices on AWS Fargate/EKS.
- Frontend: Flutter mobile (Dart), Ionic/Angular, and modern web.
- QA Automation: CI-integrated, AI-enhanced testing pipelines (e.g., Playwright, Xray, Copilot).
- Platform: AWS infrastructure (VPC, ECS, RDS, Cognito, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch).
- Ensure alignment on coding practices, API design, security, and DevSecOps processes.
- AI-Integrated Development
- Promote adoption of AI-first workflows including use of GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Devin for scaffolding, testing, and code reviews.
- Drive automation across CI/CD, story-to-code generation, and platform provisioning.
- Collaboration & Influence
- Work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering leads to drive design and delivery decisions.
- Represent engineering in Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings and promote alignment across teams and stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Technical Mastery:
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot) microservices and AWS Cloud Architecture.
- Strong experience with Flutter/Dart and modern web development.
- Familiarity with WSO2 API Manager, Cognito, IAM, Kafka, and GitOps practices.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading through influence in a multi-team environment.
- Ability to context switch across domains and provide useful feedback at every layer of the stack.
- Architectural Thinking:
- Proven ability to scale systems and enforce modularity, observability, security, and maintainability.
- Experience enforcing architecture standards across distributed teams.
- AI/Automation Savvy:
- Comfortable integrating and evangelizing AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Devin) into engineering workflows.
- Experience leveraging automation across testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in translating technical direction to diverse audiences.
Bonus Points
- Experience leading remote/near-shore engineering teams.
- Familiarity with staffing industry platforms such as Bullhorn, Salesforce, or Lawson.
- Exposure to headless CMS and Flutter-based web applications.
- Prior involvement in large-scale replatforming or modernization efforts.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $154,000 to $190,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
