As aSr. Associate II, Research & Development Process and Product Design,you would beresponsible for planning, directing and implementing all aspects of design and development of products. Investigates and evaluates the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, processes, or products from initial design to market release. Monitors documentation throughout product life cycle. This is located in Belmont, CA and in this role, a typical day will include:

  • Conduct process research, development, and upscaling for new medical device products
  • Investigate and evaluate existing technology; design new methodologies, materials, machines, or processes for medical device development
  • Design components, systems, prototypes, or specific products using engineering analysis
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and legislative requirements for all project work
  • Research, plan, design, verify, validate, and develop mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis, implement statistical methodologies, and improve computational efficiency
  • Work closely with senior team members to refine modeling techniques and validate model performance
  • Support and stabilize new product launches through concept, design, development, and steady-state processes
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Biomedical Engineer
  • Experience with Matlab and/or Python
