OVERVIEW The Community Recreation Technician will provide inclusive and engaging community and center-based recreational and leisure activities for individuals with IDD, fostering social participation, physical health, and overall well-being This position promotes social connections with input of individuals to develop new recreation and inclusive leisure activities. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES Engage participants in recreational and leisure activities tailored to the needs, interests, and abilities of participants. Create a safe and inclusive environment that promotes positive social interactions and encourages participation. Provide direct supervision and support to program participants, ensuring their safety and well-being while participating in activities. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program participation and outcomes. Collaborate with community partners and organizations to expand program offerings and access to resources. Provide transportation to and from various recreation and leisure activities. Work in collaboration with SCSU interns while providing recreation and leisure activities. Operate motor vehicles safely and in accordance with state law (agency and personal automobiles) while on work related duties. Required to drive own vehicle for work.
