Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose |
Reporting to the Dean of the College of the Pacific, with a dotted line reporting to the Marketing Manager in Strategic Communications, the Interdisciplinary Marketing & Recruitment Manager will lead Pacific's interdisciplinary marketing and recruitment strategy to yield and retain cohorts of highly diverse and qualified student applicant pools. The Manager will collaborate across schools/colleges, Strategic Communication, Student Life,
IPS, leadership from the Enrollment Strategy Division, and Marketing to create and lead an interdisciplinary multichannel communication and enrollment strategy.
The primary goals are to drive enrollment by increasing awareness and visibility of Pacific's interdisciplinary programs (current, launching, and forthcoming) and to strengthen its position in the regional and national market to become a highly sought-after undergraduate experience. |
Essential Functions |
- Works collaboratively and strategically with interdisciplinary program faculty leads and academic Deans to develop data-driven, comprehensive strategic communications, marketing, and recruitment plan designed to meet enrolment goals.
- Independently manages the interdisciplinary program recruitment budget.
- Monitors State and National trends for comparative market analysis.
- Collaborates with Strategic Communications to co-manage digital marketing, social media, and multichannel communication strategies. Keep up to date with the latest trends in admission and enrollment strategies and strategically integrate current marketing trends and best practices in promoting interdisciplinary programs, which include:
- Communications to students and parents, such as social media, web pages, blog, videos, testimonials, magazine, newsletter, brochures, ads, postcards, and other print and digital collateral and promotional pieces, especially those focused on student recruitment.
- Facilitates required marketing strategy and plan for start-up phase and long-term retention of new programs to include webinars, creating collateral, placing ads, assisting with digital marketing campaigns.
- Along with faculty leads, serves as lead presenter for admission presentation requests.
- Oversees and creates necessary dashboards and analytics development to support data-driven decisions by multiple stakeholders to meet University and program goals.
- Incorporates systems solutions and data analytics into all admissions programs to create efficiencies and on-going improvements.
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact for interdisciplinary program admission related inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborates with Enrollment Strategy and University events. Effectively uses Enrollment Strategy systems.
- Serves as a representative of interdisciplinary programs and the University at all events and communication with high school and community college students, parents, counselors, school administrators, and other individuals.
- Provides prospective and admitted students with information on the interdisciplinary curriculum, admission requirements and application, admission processes, course scheduling, internal/external scholarships, financial aid processes and University services.
- Uses professional judgement and recognized best practices to develop a comprehensive recruiting plan to increase interdisciplinary program enrollment.
- Collaborates with academic program leads and Deans to execute the university's and program's marketing plan to students and parents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree (Two (2) years of full-time experience in the same/similar marketing and/or recruitment position is equal to one (1) year of completed post-high school education coursework).
- Three (3) years of combined work experience with undergraduate enrollment.

Preferred Qualifications |
Education/Work Experience:
- M.A. or M.S. Degree.
- Four (4) years of combined work experience with undergraduate enrollment.
- Certifications/badges in Customer Service Competencies, or in marketing and recruitment best practices.
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:
- Prior experience working with college students and families.
- Ability to create rapport with students, to assist students in identifying personal challenges and needs, and help students with decision-making.
- Familiarity with basic budget and bookkeeping procedures.
- Ability to translate and integrate diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging values and practices into actionable data-based driven outcomes.
- Skills in judgment, decision-making, and problem solving.
- Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and judgment, and handle moderately sensitive interpersonal issues.
- Exceptional verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated effective/personalized student customer service that connects students to the broader university.

Computer Skills & Technical Skills:
- Intermediate to high proficiency in MS Office.
- Competency in quantitative reasoning sufficient for preparation of data such as charts and graphs.

- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.

Hiring Range |
$80,000 per year (We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.) |
