The Operations Foreman is responsible for ensuring safe, effective and efficient operation of the Operations Department.

Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for the safe and efficient functioning of the Operations Department shift on duty
  • Assume responsibility for operational activities and the conduct of members of the shift
  • Supervise and assign operational work
  • Conduct random line up checks
  • Coordinate communications with vessels, the Traffic/Inventory Department as well as Inspector/Surveyors
  • Investigate mechanical problems and call for assistance if necessary
  • Prepare and maintain all relevant, operational paperwork/documentation
  • Enforce company policies and procedures and initiate disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Completely and accurately communicate information to relieving Shift Foreman
  • Ensure that adequate staffing will be available for the succeeding shift
  • Write permits, such as Work Permits and Confined Space Permits, as necessary
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all pumps and pipelines

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Have a working knowledge of the terminal operational facilities in detail
  • Valid Driver's License
  • TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT's terminal locations.

Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Typical hours of operation require this position to work at night, on weekends, and holidays necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

  • Must have the ability to work in the outside element.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the employee have the ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines: uphill, downhill or mixed. Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
  • Ability to work with chemicals, high temperatures, high pressures, over water, at height as well as climb and lift. This would require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stand, or stoop, as necessary. Must be capable of wearing respirator and/or other PPE during some operations or emergencies.
