The Salvation Army Midland Division Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for an Associate Director of Service Extension. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army. In conjunction with the Divisional Director of Service Extension this position is responsible for the fund raising, marketing, management, planning, and implementation of program activities that will benefit the service extension units throughout the Midland Division. This position assists the Divisional Service Extension Director in providing support to the Service Extension units and their efforts to raise and distribute funds in accordance with the Salvation Army Mission. - Assists Divisional Service Extension Director in creating and implementing short-term and long-term strategic plans for the department and its units that promote financial and program development in accordance with the Salvation Army Mission and the Service Extension Vision.
- Monitors unit goal productivity and identifies, creates, and provides appropriate resources, including engagement with current and prospective donors, for units to reach their financial and program goals as set by the Divisional Service Extension Director and each unit.
- Develops and disseminates appropriate communications to all units, e.g. monthly newsletters, HQ communications, annual reports.
- Conducts or coordinates Safe From Harm trainings to ensure 100% Safe From Harm compliance across the department.
- Assists unit staff and volunteers in understanding and utilizing Register to Ring and other Salvation Army software/programs.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with all units through phone calls, emails, and occasional visits as needed.
- Works with Emergency Disaster Services to develop response teams in strategic units throughout the division.
- Assists Service Units in grant preparation, e.g., United Way, FEMA, and other potential funding sources.
- Create and provides marketing resources to aid service extension units in volunteer recruitment, program involvement, and fundraising.
- Understands and is able to assist with the preparation and submission of budgets and monthly reports as needed.
- Coordinates appropriate contacts with the development fundraising staff.
- Attend in-service seminars and conference as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe From Harm guidelines.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with unit adviser members, clients, co-workers and supervisors. This includes, but is not limited to, such actions as resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related area and at least 3 years related work experience. Will consider combination of education and experience.
- Technologically savvy and a strategic thinker.
- Volunteer management and/or supervisory experience.
- Position requires valid driver's license, ability to pass TSA MVR check, and reliable transportation.
- Must be a team player, self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work successfully under pressure and deadlines.

Travel: Requires frequent daytime travel throughout MO and Southern IL with occasional overnights.
