The Opportunity Skadden is seeking a Senior Human Resources Recruiter. This position will perform full cycle recruitment for Business Services Professional positions in the New York and White Plains offices. Leads the coordination of internship programs and Legal Practice Assistant hiring. Oversees the on-boarding and orientation of new hires. The Senior Human Resources Recruiter will participate in the exit interview process, and serve as a resource to all Firm personnel by responding to inquiries regarding Human Resources recruitment practices and/or Firm policies and procedures. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
- Participates in the recruitment process of Business Services Professional employees, including collaborating with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, utilizing various sources to market and advertise position vacancies; screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, utilizing the applicant tracking system and referring qualified applicants to the appropriate hiring manager. Leverages data and analytics to implement tactics aligned with our hiring strategy.
- Works closely with hiring managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the hiring needs for each position and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
- Proactively seeks feedback from hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and implementation.
- Facilitates the offer and on-boarding process for new hires, including creating offer letters, reviewing background check results.
- Leads the coordination and administration of the summer internship program, including recruitment, on-boarding, facilitating summer programs and events, and gathering feedback. Maintains relationships with non-profit organizations and schools.
- Leads the Legal Practice Assistant recruitment process for New York, partnering with Human Resources in other offices and the Paralegal Services management team.
- Leads new hire orientation ensuring a robust delivery of content including policies, procedures, cultural awareness and employee programs/resources.
- Responsible for reviewing, revising and sharing updates to the new hire orientation.
- Coordinates new hire orientation schedule.
- Makes appropriate salary recommendations based on applicants' experience and other internal equity considerations. Partners with hiring managers to develop concise and accurate job descriptions for posted vacancies. Collaborates on the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to identify the most qualified candidates.
- Creates and maintains recruitment step by step guides, including email templates and other communications to maintain consistency with HRIS, new hires, and hiring managers.
- Trains new hires in the Human Resources department in New York on the recruitment and orientation processes.
- Collaborates and provides thoughtful feedback and ideas to HRIS with regards to Workday ATS.
- Maintains contact with external employment-related agencies and attends career fairs/consortiums and related events to continually build a pipeline of quality candidates.
- Ensures recruitment efforts are in compliance with EEO and OFCCP federal regulations.
- Seeks to enhance knowledge of Human Resources procedures and processes.
Qualifications
- Current knowledge of Human Resources practices, techniques, and business trends
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
- Broad and thorough knowledge of Excel and MS Word and a understanding of employee database applications
- Demonstrates close attention to detail
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of five years of related Human Resources experience, including full cycle recruitment
