As a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager, you'll play a key role in underwriting, monitoring, and managing a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate relationships. You'll collaborate closely with Relationship Managers and internal partners to deliver smart lending solutions while maintaining strong portfolio health. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your credit expertise, build meaningful client relationships, and contribute to a growing and dynamic team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Underwrite new loan originations, renewals, and modifications, producing clear, high-quality credit presentations.

  • Analyze borrower financials, property performance, and market trends to maintain accurate risk ratings and portfolio quality.

  • Partner with Relationship Managers to deliver excellent client experiences and facilitate smooth communication across teams.

  • Monitor loan performance and proactively identify emerging risks or opportunities within the portfolio.

  • Conduct due diligence for new and existing relationships, ensuring compliance and minimizing credit exceptions.

  • Contribute to loan approval discussions and present on specific deals as needed.

  • Mentor junior portfolio managers and assist with strategic credit or process improvement initiatives.

  • Represent Associated Bank at industry and community events to strengthen client and market relationships.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance or Accounting

  • 4+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate or Credit Analysis

  • 4+ years of experience handling complex credit relationships

  • Reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive self by start date

Preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in sales or business development

  • Formal credit training

  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification
