https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9ihImu88OQ&t=9s Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant Volleyball Coach will support the Head Women's Volleyball Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive NCAA Division I women's volleyball program. Responsibilities include assisting with daily practice planning and game preparation, leading the development and implementation of defensive systems, overseeing key administrative functions, and actively recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes. The position requires a commitment to fostering a positive team culture and contributing to the overall success of the program both on and off the court.

Regular, reliable, and professional attendance is essential, as is the ability to cultivate and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships within the department and broader university community. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Previous volleyball coaching experience at the collegiate level

  • Experience recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, both domestically and internationally, consistent with NCAA guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to five years college coaching experience

  • Has experience applying concepts behind how athletes acquire and improve motor skills in volleyball with demonstrated experience in designing drills, teaching skills, and developing performance

  • College playing experience as a setter and/or training college age setters

  • Experience with a volleyball specific analytics: Volley Station, Hudl and/or BallTime

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of motor learning and skill acquisition principles, especially as they apply to player development and performance

  • Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations

  • Technical instruction skills for individual and team skill development (serving, setting, blocking, hitting, etc.

  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, with student-athletes, head coach, support staff, and recruits

  • Multi-tasking skills in managing multiple high-priority responsibilities in fast-paced, high-stakes environment

  • Ability to foster an inclusive and respectful team environment

  • Ability to mentor and support student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally

  • Ability to travel extensively and represent the program positively in all settings
