Position Summary

The Vice Chairman, Credit is a critical skill role that ensures the Bank's credit philosophy and credit decisioning, processes, policies and overall portfolio management practices are sound. Through oversight and management of all Credit Committees, Loan Portfolios and Credit Reporting, Special Assets, Loan Policy Development and Oversight, the Vice Chairman will provide a high level of risk and credit acumen, as well as ensuring succession and continued specialized expertise within Credit leadership through mentorship and the development of future leaders within the credit department. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as Chairperson for all credit committees
  • Responsible for the overall development, management, direction and execution of all credit policies and procedures
  • Loan portfolio management and related reporting
  • Monitoring and management of Busey's special assets portfolio
  • Mentorship of credit and BLDI associates
  • Participation in regulatory and investor relations meetings/calls as needed
  • M&A credit due diligence
  • Special projects as assigned
Education & Experience
  • Knowledge of: Banking and lending strategies
  • Terms and conditions of federal lending laws
  • Analytical skills and techniques to lead the entire range of problem-solving work from problem definition to analysis, recommendation, and the development of implementation plans
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function, including expert knowledge in Busey's Commercial/Credit line of business
  • Ability to: Exert influence appropriately
  • Work collaboratively, strategically and pragmatically with executive leadership
  • Make recommendations/decisions while considering long-term implications
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships at all levels throughout the organization
  • Must be able to lead through ambiguity
  • Education and Training: Requires a college degree in Finance, Economics or Business Management.
  • Requires 10 or more years of lending, credit and leadership experience.
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership in a high performing team orientated environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $250,000-$300,000/year
