The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 3 is currently recruiting for a Shop Administrative Technician II in Prince George's and Montgomery counties. This position is open to current permanent employees within District 3 only who meet the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this SHA position or function only. You will need to reapply for any future recruitment conducted for this job classification.

Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to procure materials, parts, supplies, and services for the maintenance facility. In addition, this position will manage the receipt, storage, and disbursement from the stock room at the maintenance facility. This position also maintains total working knowledge of FMIS - ADPICS VISA Procurement Program and Bradley Inventory System to assist with procurement and inventory management.

This position also provides administrative/secretarial support to the resident maintenance engineer, assistant resident maintenance engineer, team leaders, and other employees assigned to the maintenance facility. Manage all office functions and needs. Maintain total working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures in order to provide guidance in personnel actions. Accurately prepare bi-weekly time reports. Maintain knowledge of the Computerized Maintenance Accomplishment Recording System (MAXIMO) to assist with accomplishment tracking, and FMIS - R*STARS to assist with budget and expenditure tracking

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One (1) year of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Must be knowledgeable of computer systems such as FAST, Emergency Operations Reporting System (FAST), and Customer Service Management Systems (CCMS).
* Must be able to receive parts and supplies, take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment, enter and retrieve data via personal computer.


Licenses & Certifications

Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operation's license valid in the state of MD with less than four (4) points.

Special Requirements:
This position is considered essential and is expected to be available to work 24 hours/day 7 days/week for inclement weather and/or other emergency events.
