Description Environmental Assistant Grounds Team will clean and sanitize rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas following established policies and procedures. Qualifications Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED (Required) Minimum Work Experience 1 year Cleaning/housekeeping experience (Preferred) Required Skills/Knowledge Requires ability to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to tolerate temperature extremes and adverse outside weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds routinely and 100 pounds occasionally; must be able to push/pull 200 pounds, must be able to bend from waist and at knees; must be able to reach with arms over head; must be able to stand for prolonged periods. Functional Accountabilities Grounds Maintenance Perform daily routine cleaning in assigned areas following established policies and procedures. Remove trash using appropriate techniques and bagging procedures. Use ten step procedure. Use cleaning chemicals for their specific purpose, following product directions. Clean and maintain patio areas, walkways, stairwells, entrances and elevator lobbies, smoking areas and ambulance entrances. Clean and maintain glass at all Hospital entryways. Police driveways and grounds and removes debris. May be assigned to internal areas to perform cleaning procedures in extreme weather conditions. Personal and Patient Safety Wear personal protective equipment according to hospital guidelines, follow universal precautions. Use appropriate cleaning materials. Report unsafe conditions in assigned work areas. Observes isolation procedures. Equipment Maintenance Operate cleaning equipment according to instructions. Replace belts, bags and make other minor equipment repairs; report other mechanical failures to supervisor. Clean equipment as directed. Non-Essential Function Arrive and depart work on time Report to work on scheduled days with no excessive absenteeism. Leave for meal break and return on time. Report to work in uniform; uniform are clean and free of debris or odor; entire uniform is worn daily.
