Overview
This position will support a wide range of security activities for TierPoint's Information Security Office. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Security Operations, this position provides security assistance through operations, incident response, threat hunting, malware analysis and network/host scanning for vulnerabilities, and system remediation activities.
Responsibilities
Provide quality internal and external customer service supporting TierPoint's security product offerings to customers and the TierPoint organization
- Collaborate with other TierPoint managed services, information technology teams and customers to get security configurations & tools deployed
- Install/remove/troubleshoot endpoint security software such as AV, SIEM agents, and encryption agents
- Install/remove/troubleshoot network security tools such as network UTM (IPS/Web & app filtering/AV) and DDoS protection
- Install/remove/troubleshoot application security tools & configurations such as MFA and SIEM logging
- Assist in coordinating and/or performing vulnerability scans with written reports internal, external, and customer facing, researching exploit results and mitigation.
- Support Security Office with implementation, installation, testing, architecture, and development of internal security and other systems include SIEM platform.
- Assist the Security Office with internal systems and one-off security solutions including but not limited to operation, maintenance, scheduling, development, architecture, documentation, and delivery.
- Support Information Security Office with infrastructure maintenance, updates and upgrades
- Respond to security incidents, customer or internal as required
- Monitor network, infrastructure and end point for emerging cyber security threat
- Monitor threat detection systems and SIEM platforms as needed to support both Internal Systems security and client services where subscribed
- Participate in threat mitigation
- Respond to layer 7 attacks and mitigate as needed
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of information security systems and function including but not limited to: intrusion systems, firewalls, denial of service protection, log management, vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in an information technology position.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment including multi-level staff and external partners
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications
- CEH/Security+/CISSP Desirable but not required
- Industry certificates - NSE 4+, GSEC, CySA+
- Security clearance may be required
Preferred Experience
- Associates degree in security or related field
- Certification such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, CISM
Working Conditions
- Technical writing, SOP development, incident response experience
