Setup & Operate - Press - 2nd

Using a variety of mechanical tools and measuring devices, selects forming dies and performs simple, less complicated set ups on presses, brakes, trimming machine, and automatic stock feeder. Works from pattern, print or layout plate. Checks first few pieces against blueprint. Completes production run. Spot-checks pieces in process. Lubricates part and die as required. Stacks ports in box or on skid. Installs guards. Adjusts pullbacks and light curtains. Uses lockout/tagout procedure. Handles dies with powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks or die lift truck. Reports improper equipment operation or defective parts to Supervisor. Records time and production and performs other duties as necessary.

5.Spot-checks pieces in process.
6.Lubricates part and die as required.
7.Stacks parts in box or on skid.
8.Installs guards.
9.Adjusts pullbacks and light curtains.
10.Uses lockout/tagout procedure.
11.Handles dies with powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks or die lift truck.
12.Reports improper equipment operation and defective materials to Supervisor.
13.Records time and production.
14.Works eight-hour shift concurrently with other plant operations. Periodic daily and weekend overtime as production schedules demand.
15.May be assigned task of training new/transferred employees as required.
16.Other essential functions as may be assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting, ability to operate powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks, and following of instructions. Must be able to successfully master all elements of training control document for this job.
