Consumer Loan Officer - Full Time

We are currently seeking motivated candidates for a Full Time Consumer Loan Underwriter position at our Home Office in Auburn Hills. After training is complete, this position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule.

Position Purpose:

The primary focus of this position is to work within a centralized lending environment for decision requests for credit. Interact with both contact center and branch employees concerning potential and existing borrowers. This position will work closely with management to ensure consistency and quality in all aspects of consumer lending.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

• Analyze loan data on new or refinanced loans, including credit bureau data and other financial data as it is provided by the member
• Approve/deny loan applications based on Genisys Credit Union's lending practices and policies
• Provide advice to Contact Center and Branch employees regarding loans for members
• Apply sales and services techniques to all member interactions

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years financial lending experience required
• Two years or more underwriting experience required

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to promote a positive team atmosphere
• Ability to work well with others in all areas of the Credit Union
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as loan policy manual, credit reports, income tax forms and paystubs.
• Strong typing ability and communication skills (both written and verbal)
