Primary Responsibility: Responsible for overseeing the health, medical and psychiatric services throughout the agency. Essential Functions:Provide clinical leadership and consultation throughout the agency. Contribute to the development and on-going medical direction of the agency.
Stay abreast of relevant psychiatric research and literature and integrate into recommendations related to the philosophy, policy and services. Supervise staff prescribers (psychiatrists and advanced practice prescribing nurses). In collaboration with Program Directors and Human Resources, recruit and interview candidates for psychiatry and nursing positions.
Provide guidance, training and feedback for employee development and productivity. Initiate and supervise the development of goals and objectives. Administer the performance evaluation and performance management process for direct staff. Oversee and ensure quality clinical care and documentation is being provided to clients.
Establish guidelines and standards pertaining to health, medical and psychiatric related services. Ensure informed consent policy and procedures are being followed. Ensure standards for psychiatrist involvement with families and medication distribution are being met.
Participate in quality assurance, utilization review and internal reviews. Act as a liaison between outside physicians and external contacts (humans services agencies, news entities, community organizations) for the HLW administration. Assist in maintaining connections with community resources, funding sources and academic institutions.
Provide supervision and support for the nursing services of the agency by performing the following duties: supervise nurses for the agency and have a monthly meeting; coordinate with Program Directors the management of the nurses; participate in Wellness initiative and health education for the agency; develop trainings for the agency including CPR, PRNs, and medication administration; develop and maintain policies and procedures for the agency, including the Health Services Manual; maintain standards of practice for nurses and monitor programs; coordinate infection controlProvide 24/7 on call availability for the Agency for health, medical and psychiatric issues.
Provide consultation to prescribers, nurses and programs regarding difficult clinical cases and emergencies. Provide clinical coverage when a prescriber is out of a program
RJG-2007 MD. Several years of supervisory and managerial experience in the child and family services industry.
Extensive child/adolescent psychiatry training and experience. Familiarity with nursing practices and general pediatric issuesPhysical Requirements:Standard office setting. Local travel to Programs.
