Job Title: Student Recruiter / Enrollment Advisor Reports to: Enrollment Manager / Associate Director of Admissions Location: Ashford University / Online Division Hours: Non-Exempt: some overtime may be required Department: Admissions Department Classification: Full-time Job Summary: Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for recruiting online students for both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Essential Functions: The student recruiter makes outbound calls to prospective students qualifying them on their interest in earning their degree with Ashford University. The student recruiter conducts student appointments with prospective students over the phone to further explore their motivation for going to school.
This includes advising potential students, offering degree options, and understanding degree requirements. The student recruiter verifies enrollment status and ensures students are eligible for admissions. The student recruiter also follows up with students that apply for admission, making sure they are prepared to start class.
Some of these duties include: online orientation to the learning platform, ordering the first set of books, checking attendance and making sure that they have successfully completed their first class. Education and / or experience: Degree preferred; or at least 30 college credits to apply for the position: Prior goal-oriented sales experience of two years is required.
Skills Required: Must possess a thorough knowledge of the higher education market and industry. Must have completed and mastered or be able to demonstrate skill and ability in the Enrollment Advisor learning objectives and training proficiencies. Must be results oriented and have the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
Customer service, sales or marketing experience entailing one on one interaction is required. Must have an excellent command of professional presentation skills to accurately convey Ashford's information over the phone. Must have the ability to make ethical decisions, doing what is always best for the students as well as the Company.
