INPATIENT REHAB Description: Saint Francis Hospital'sInpatient Rehab Clinic is looking for an outstanding Psych Nurse Practitioner to join our staff!We currently have a FULL TIME DAY Position available!PRIMARY FUNCTION: In accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, provides assessment,diagnosisand treatment services to individuals in the hospital's inpatient chemical dependency program.

. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES (to be performed in accordance with practice protocols and collaborative agreement with physician): 1.

Completes psychiatric evaluations, including DSM IV diagnosis and, when indicated, recommendations for medication management2.

Prescribes psychotropic medication to patients requiring it, monitors response, and makes appropriate adjustments3.

Consults with counseling staff regarding patients exhibiting psychiatric symptoms and related issues and questions POSITION QUALIFICATIONSA.

Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience, 5 preferredB.

Master's degree from psychiatric nurse practitioner program or otherwise meets NYS Education Department requirements to practice as an NP-PC.

Licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse and as an NP-P in N.Y.S.

; NP-P Certification (MHNP-B.C) preferredD.
