Monitor daily Central Sterilization Unit (CSU) activities, within guidelines, including the sterilization of instrument cassettes, bur blocks, endofile boxes and handpieces.

Examine clinical hand pieces to ensure they are properly maintained after each use (purging and lubrication of each unit) and ensure compliance with all workflow and infection control policies and procedures.

Periodically inspect quality of instrument cassettes and report any deficiencies to the Assistant Director.

Track dental instruments through all phases of the cleaning and sterilization process by utilizing scanning technology.

Sterilize instruments, operate autoclave, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of simple dental equipment (disassemble, clean, reassemble, store).

Maintain inventory, assist with ordering supplies, stock medical disposable goods in storage areas, and ensure central sterilization has all necessary materials).

Answer telephones; respond to requests from internal and external customers.
